On November 16-17, UNICEF National Solutions Summit was hosted at UNIS with the participation of our students, UNIS’s students and students from Vietnamese public schools. BIS and UNIS students led teams of students to tackle the problems facing children in Vietnam today.

The 20th of November each year is the anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and this year we have taken part in a very special event that was arranged by UNICEF, hosted at UNIS. Fourteen of our Year 11 & 12 students volunteered to give up two of their weekends to be trained by Brian Cotter from UNICEF and were ready to facilitate their own workshops in the Summit. BIS and UNIS students then successfully led teams of children from public schools across Vietnam using the training they received. These teams came to work on solving problems that they had chosen as the most important issues facing the young people of Vietnam. We were very proud to see them in action.

They worked extremely hard in partnership with students from UNIS to support and nurture the young public school students to develop solutions to their problems. In addition, we are even more proud to see Nam and Ha communicating and presenting confidently while leading the event.

As part of the event, we joined the distinguished guests including the Deputy Prime Minister and other government representatives at an evening celebration at Hoan Kiem lake.
