Staff Profile: Anthony Prior

Anthony Prior BIS Hanoi 2019

Economics & Business Teacher

B.Ed (Hon) University of Newcastle NSW

Tony began his teaching career in 1994, initially teaching business studies, commerce and geography for the NSW Department of Education in various high schools in the state. He then moved onto being head of social science faculties in various government high schools from 1998 until 2006.

Tony then started his international teaching career in August 2006, teaching IB, A-Level and IGCSE Business and Economics firstly at the International School HCMC (Vietnam), then at the British School Manila (The Philippines) and finally as head of the economics department at Dulwich College in Beijing (China).

Tony then moved back to Australia to launch a new mobile phone app (Predict News) on both IOS and Android platforms but regrettably, it failed to gain traction or users. However, it was a valuable (albeit soul-crushing) experience.

For most of the last 4 years, Tony has been working at the University of NSW foundation program lecturing and tutoring Economics, Business Management and Business Law.

His main interests include economics, technology, cycling, motorcycling and spending time with his wife and daughter.
