Mrs Sarah Wild Weekly Update 06th November

06 November 2015

For Year 11, we are coming towards decision time, as they look to choose their A Levels subjects. We are working with the students to improve their performance, so that they get the best possible IGCSE grades in the summer.

  • Secondary update 20151106
  • A level choices 20151106 (1)
  • A level choices 20151106 (2)

We encourage them to set achievable goals, to plan and think ahead. It is important that the goals set are achievable and motivating for individual students. In addition, the steps needed to reach goals need to be definite, clear and achievable. Teachers and parents must not underestimate the praise and acknowledgment for small steps of progress, as it supports young people to meet their goals.

The Parents’ Evening next Tuesday is very important, as the discussion about current academic progress is essential.  It is also a hugely important occasion as it is a key opportunity for staff to give advice that students and parents will need regarding A Levels and what will be happening for students during Year 12 and 13.   Please make sure you ask lots of questions during the afternoon 16:00 to 18:15 session!  At 18:30 we look forward to welcoming Year 10 parents also to join Year 11 parents for the first of many information evenings about A Levels, universities and studying abroad.
