Principal Weekly Update 28/10/16 from Mr Mark Sayer

I am writing this edition of the Principal's Message on the edge of Ngorongoro Conservation Park under a star-filled early morning sky.  The Nord Anglia Education Senior Leadership Conference has certainly been able to live up to the motto of Be Ambitious.  We have covered a great number of topics working collaboratively for better outcomes for students.  We have discussed issues relating to future direction and alignment of all schools within the group.  We have learned from one another about key aspects of school leadership and learned of future initiatives that will give students phenomenal opportunities in their education.

Coming to Tanzania and working together as a team, contributing in some small way to the education of extremely poor Tanzanian schools and realising that the key to development is robust and consistent educational practice and knowing that this opportunity is available to our students strengthens my resolve back in Hanoi to provide these enriching experiences for them.

We will be offering this to students in the next academic year as the programme only runs from October to March but i have no doubt that for those that attend it will be a life-changing experience.

We also witnessed first-hand the excellence of the Juilliard teaching programme where all 80 of us here participated in a carefully constructed and delivered session involving dance and music.  The levels of thought, collaboration, team work and creativity makes this a very exciting programme for our students.

In all it has been a fabulous time that will yield many benefits to the students and the school as a whole.  It is indeed global in its outlook but so focussed on growth for the individual in which NAE school they may be in the world.

I wish you a very happy weekend.

Mr Mark Sayer - Principal of BVIS Hanoi
