Year 7's Motte and Bailey Competition in History

19 February 2016

In History lessons, the Year 7s have been looking at Medieval Britain and the role castles played in the defence of kingdoms.

Their homework was to make a replica of a Motte and Bailey castle which was so successful for King William 1 to ensure he had complete control over England. The standard of entries was superb and I loved seeing how creative all the students were; a number of cake castles went down a treat too! The winner of the first BVIS Motte and Bailey competition went to Khanh Linh Duong of 7B! I look forward to next year’s competition as the benchmark has been set so high by this year’s entries.
