Welcome back, I hope you all had a restful two weeks off over the Easter holiday.
There are only ten weeks left of our school year but there is much to be done. Next week, our Year 11 and 12 students will begin their IGCSE and AS Level exams, for which they have been working so hard for over the last year. I wish them all the very best of luck and know that the vast majority of them have prepared themselves very well for these exams.
The third term of the school year is another exciting period of teaching and learning, but it is also a chance to start looking ahead to next year and a time to start reflecting on the year before and fine tuning our approaches to learning for August.
With that in mind, I would like to remind you all that I will be hosting a ‘drop in’ coffee morning from 8:30 to 9:30am every Thursday from next week. This is a chance to come into school, have a cup of coffee and ask me anything you would like about the work of the school, the curriculum or our support of the students. You can come and share with me any concerns you might have or, indeed, any achievements and celebrations you would like me to know about. Hearing your views is a very important part of reflecting on our successes and looking at how, moving forwards, we can become even better. We will be meeting in the Secondary Dining Hall, and I hope to see some of you over the next few weeks.
For our Year 8 parents, I would like to remind you that we have a Year 8 Parents evening on from 4-6:30pm next Tuesday 25th April. Your children have been given appointment sheets and I hope to see all of you at this event.
Finally I would like to congratulate our Under 14 volleyball teams. On Tuesday, they played against UNIS and beat them. This meant that they finished the season having beaten all other teams in Hanoi. They are undefeated this season. They play with verve and nerve, and have listened incredibly well to their coaches. My congratulations to all the students and my thanks to Mr Perry and Mr Jon for the hours they have put in to enabling the students to do so well.
I wish you all a great week ahead.
Mr. Nick Lee - Head of Secondary
