Children began their International Week by receiving welcome greetings in different languages, as they entered the gates of the school on Monday morning. It has been a week bursting with exciting activities carried out in class, all relating to an adopted country of their choice. There have been many highlights, but one of my favorites was visiting the classes and seeing some of our parents working with the children as they prepared specialty food dishes. There was a great deal of chocolate sauce covering table surfaces as truffles from Brazil were prepared and the tortillas from Kenya went down a treat! The Assembly on Friday was an opportunity for all of the classes to share their favorite moments and exchange information about countries across the globe. I would like to extend my thanks to all of the staff and parents involved in creating this wonderful event.
Congratulations to our Primary Footballers this week for their participation in the HAC Football Tournament held at UNIS. The boys all played in excellent spirit and although there was no official scorekeeping, the boys in Team 2 were delighted that they won all of their games. Thank you to those parents who came to support; the boys were grateful for the encouragement received.
A visit this week from our Juilliard Creative Curriculum Advisor, Ms. Salla Saarikangas, was a great success. She observed some of the Music and Dance lessons as a means to ensure that we are delivering a high quality program, in line with the Juilliard philosophy. We were delighted with her feedback, which was very positive and excited by some new staff training opportunities that are coming up.
Finally, we received a special acknowledgement from the British Embassy, Hanoi, this week, for great kindness in supporting this year’s Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. The sale of poppies by our Student Ambassadors generated nearly VND 2,600,000 and these proceeds will contribute towards helping veterans and their families. Thank you all for your generosity.
Enjoy the weekend.
