Our annual school musical was the Broadway classic “Little Shop of Horrors”, which proved a huge, ‘monster’ hit on the BVIS stage! Our annual school musical was the Broadway classic “Little Shop of Horrors”, which proved a huge, ‘monster’ hit on the BVIS stage! The show told the story of Seymour Krelbourn who encountered an evil plant from outer space. As the plant grew, so did Seymour’s success… The only problem is the plant has a very strict diet of humans!

25 students spent around 85 hours rehearsing the show from the middle of August in order to fully prepare. Their hard work paid off and they wowed audiences with their acting, singing and dancing talents. Backstage another team of staff and students worked tirelessly to ensure the show ran smoothly, and our technical crew of pupils took care of the lighting and sound effects.

Aside from our pupils, another star of the show was undoubtedly the plant itself- the ‘Audrey II’. A fantastic feat of engineering by our maintenance team, and the wonderful artistry of Ms. Emma Corkery and Mr. Glen Johnstone created a series of elaborate puppets that grew until the last plant just about took over the main stage!

This was a real team effort in all aspects, and it has been wonderful to see so many of our pupils, from all year groups, working together to create a challenging piece of theatre. Over 500 people came to see the show, raising over 13 million VND to fund the valuable work of Blue Dragon charity. Well done to all pupils involved!
