Welcome to BVIS Secondary activity update
In Geography
In Year 11, students are studying the topic of tourism. We have looked at the benefits and problems of tourism across Vietnam. We’ve also discussed the impact the growth of tourism has had on the country and implications of Covid on the tourism industry. The students have come up with some very creative ideas to help Vietnam’s tourism industry bounce back once the borders open fully again.
In Year 12, students have been learning about temperature inversions and how this helps trap pollution in Hanoi’s lower atmosphere. The students are now experts in being able to look at the weather forecast and predicting pollution levels across the city without going outside!
In History
Our historians this week have been looking at a cool range of history:
- Year 7s have studied why people went on Crusade
- Year 8s were looking at the Mughal Empire
- Year 9s what it was like to live in Nazi Germany
- Our iGCSE students continue to excel and produce excellent work as they study the affects of WW1 on many of the defeated countries.
In English
The English department would like to congratulate the following Key Stage 3 students who successfully attempted the Sora reading challenge over the Christmas break! Sora is our new online library, that has access to hundreds of books, suitable for all reading levels. These students all trialled the website over the break, exploring different books and trialling a variety of genres – well done!
