In Geography,
Year 7 have been learning about Chocolate as part of their South America topic. They have learnt about how cocoa bean trees are an important part of the Amazon and how if we don’t stop deforesting we’ll run out of chocolate. Their favourite part was taste testing some chocolate!
In Year 9, students have been busy sorting, counting and packing the books ready to go to the Floating Village as part of our Community Service. We are all very excited to see how the new community library looks when it is done.
In History
In Year 7, students have been completing the topic of African empires. They have learnt how the empires grew and have even role played a day in the life of an African king!
Just want to say how well the Year 7s have done recently as they studied the Kingdom of Benin, Year 8s have been super looking at the Causes of the American Civil War and Year 9 really got involved in their role as the African National Congress whilst looking at South African Apartheid.
In Drama
Today, a variety of pupils from years 7-9 performed in the KS3 Drama Showcase. I was very impressed with the level of effort, commitment and overall performance quality of each participating group.
It was amazing to see pupils supporting one another, enjoying sharing their work and improving their self-confidence. Most importantly, they had great fun!
I hope that this encourages pupils to get involved in future performing arts events too as we have some great talent!
