Primary Learning Support Teacher

  • BA Primary Teacher Education with Special Needs Pathway

Vicky has been teaching for nearly 10 years. Since graduating, she has had the opportunity to teach a range of year groups from Year 1 to 6. She started her career as a mainstream teacher and for the past 8 years has taught in a Special Educational Needs environment, with children predominantly on the autistic spectrum.

Prior to arriving in Hanoi, Vicky was teaching in a SEN provision in Hong Kong.  During her time there, she has redeveloped assessment trackers for children working below age-related expectations, introduced signing to support communication and understanding and ensured smooth transition programmes for children moving into mainstream classes. She has also developed links across the whole curriculum to include the international dimension. Vicky is committed to ensuring that all children have the best possible learning experiences and is keen to make the curriculum accessible to all.

In her spare time, Vicky likes to read a variety of genres and is a keen traveller. She enjoys exploring the culture of the places she visits and learning local languages.
