• PGCE (Music), Manchester Metropolitan University, UK
Flis graduated from The University of Sheffield in 2009 with a Bachelors of Music degree, before gaining her PGCE in Music Education at Manchester Metropolitan University.
She taught in the UK for 10 years, first as a music teacher and later taking on roles in whole school arts and pastoral leadership. In 2017 Flis was honoured to be one of five recipients of Classic FM’s Music Teacher of the year award; a UK-wide competition to recognise excellence in teaching.
In 2019 Flis became a Primary Teacher Coach for Ark Music, working with a group of London schools to deliver the music curriculum alongside class teachers, whilst studying on The Royal Opera House Leaders for Impact programme.
Outside the classroom, Flis enjoys live theatre, being active and has recently been learning more about film making and photography. BIS Hanoi is Flis’s first international post and she is delighted to be joining a school with such a dynamic Performing Arts department!
