Dear Parents and Students

PTFA Barbecue

It continues to be a very busy time at NAISAK with our students having many opportunities to become fully engaged in school life.  I would like to thank everybody who turned up for our PTFA Barbecue and Open Day that we hosted on Monday afternoon.  A special note of gratitude to the members of the PTFA for their tireless efforts in making sure the event was such a success.  I would also like to thank all of the families who brought additional food for the event.  The generosity that exists in our community never ceases to amaze me.

Sports Days

We also had three very interesting and exciting Sports Days this week where all students were actively involved in sport during their respective sessions.  Congratulations to the students who without exception were wonderful sportsmen both during and outside of the events taking place.  It was great to see the friendly competition amongst students and staff as they were encouraging all students to do their absolute best.  Congratulations also to some older students who supported the Sports Days for the Foundation Stage and Primary School. Their ability to face new challenges and develop a variety of skills outside of the classroom was certainly matched by their enthusiasm!

Parent Satisfaction Survey

All parents should have received a soft copy of a letter with a link to the annual Parent Satisfaction Survey on Thursday.  Hard copies of the same letter will be sent home today.  I would greatly appreciate if you can make the time to complete this important survey, as we are very keen to receive feedback on our strengths and how we can improve as a school.

Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM) Presentation to Parents on Value Added Data

All parents are encouraged to attend presentations on the standardised assessments that students sat during the first term.  The presentations will take place on Monday 19 February from 18:15 for parents of Primary School students and 19:15 for parents of Secondary School students. Please note that Year 8 students did not sit the assessments and are scheduled to sit them in the first term of next academic year.  Parents will have received hard copies of their children’s results with an explanatory letter on Sunday.  Monday’s presentations aim to provide further information about CEM and how to interpret and support your children in realising their potential.  I look forward to meeting with many of you on Monday evening.

Sports Facilities

I am pleased to report that the construction company has poured the cement for the pillars that will provide shade for the new hard courts that we will have next term.  The staff are working six days a week and the work is visibly progressing on a daily basis.
