At NAISNY, we have a fascinating world of eye-opening experiences, ready to advance your child into the future.

MOVING TWO STEPS AHEAD

Your child will wake up every day eager to go to school — whether that’s to discover what happened overnight in their science project, to perform on stage, or to thoughtfully connect their studies with community impact. At NAISNY, we encourage an international mindset of looking at different perspectives and listening to others. It’s all about envisioning a global future where our students can use their intelligence, skills, and talents to create something incredible, taking every step to get there.

THE CREATIVE ARTS
We offer a fresh set of rotating CCAs in the creative arts every term that extend artistic abilities beyond our performing arts class time with Juilliard, for example, and allow students to select which skills they’d like deepen, refine, or explore anew. Whether it’s music theory, art, sewing, crochet, or drama, there’s something creative for everyone.

STEAM ACTIVITIES
Construction, coding, robotics, math challenges, and puzzles are all favorite CCAs at NAISNY to build our students’ skills across STEAM subjects. Independently explored, these play-based activities further the skills from our MIT challenges, with greater practice and precision in using tools or techniques — from problem solving to collaboration.

AMAZING EXPEDITIONS

EYE-OPENING EXPLORATIONS — A SUBWAY STOP OR FLIGHT AWAY

During class trips, we have rich opportunities to visit the best organizations in New York City, experiencing great resources firsthand. We also offer transformative trips within the Nord Anglia international family for further travel — to Florida, Costa Rica, or Tanzania, for example.
Ashokan
THE ASHOKAN CENTER
Years 3–6 at NAISNY build their love for nature and bond together during our exciting annual retreat to the Catskills Mountains at the Ashokan Center, an outdoor education center in upstate New York. Staying overnight for a week, our students study biomimicry and ecosystems, go canoeing and hiking, and learn blacksmithing and archery, among other things.
Theater 1
LOCAL THEATER
As an extension of our Performing Arts program, we take advantage of the excellent theater opportunities within New York City, making ties between what we’re learning in our drama or English classes to productions available on Broadway or other local theaters.
Museums and Learning Centers
MUSEUMS AND LEARNING CENTERS
Among the plethora of museums and learning centers across NYC, we’ve enhanced our classroom experiences with visits to the world-famous Metropolitan Museum of Art, the UN General Assembly (UNGA), the Hudson River Park Wetlab, the Liberty Science Center, the Jewish Museum, and beyond.
Tanzania
ARUSHA, TANZANIA
Our oldest students can travel to Tanzania to learn how to support the local community through hands-on activities, from building irrigation systems to organizing a sustainable garden. This transformative experience allows our students to learn about the unique features of the climate and environment from a different part of the globe.
Global Games
GLOBAL GAMES
The Global Games are an annual five-day sporting event held in Windermere, Florida for Years 8 and 9 to compete against other Nord Anglia international schools across North, Central, and South America. Year 7 students can participate in the Junior Global Games in Costa Rica. Across all our teams, NAISNY goes for gold in basketball, soccer, volleyball, flag football, and beyond.

KEEPING HEALTHY AND STAYING BALANCED

LOOKING AFTER OUR WELL-BEING

At NAISNY, we believe that emotional intelligence and strong relationships are vital to helping our students achieve their goals and thrive as young adults. Our youngest learners begin to build their emotional wellness when they practice ways to describe how they feel and how to resolve negative emotions. As our students mature, they get more advanced in PSHE (Personal Social Health Education) with their peers, where they discuss topics like positivity, mental and physical health, bullying, and financial literacy, among others.

Throughout all activities, we guide our students with eight “NAISNY Habits”: communication, resilience, morality, adaptability, respect, inquiry, thoughtfulness, and cooperation. These habits help our students become balanced and deliberate in their actions, whether that’s as a classmate, teammate, family member, or global citizen.

PURPOSEFUL LEARNING

CARING THAT DRIVES ACTION

On Global Campus, Nord Anglia's online learning platform, all NAISNY students embark on our Social Impact Program, where they learn about the United Nations’ Social Development Goals (SDGs) and devise their own solutions to some of the world's biggest problems. They also act in response to the SDGs by participating in UNICEF's Global Challenge, where they take on community projects among people with specific needs, assist charities that provide relief to the vulnerable, or get involved in environmental projects, like recycling or turning plants into biofuel.

Student Enterprise week at NAISNY is especially a stimulating time of the year when each year group is given a budget to design, create, and market their own original, sustainable product to raise funds for a charity of their choice. Each year group uses their social entrepreneurship skills, as they apply their talents and witness the positive impact they can have in a community.
