In 1959, our private school opened in Rotterdam with just 15 English-speaking students and one teacher. An influx of American military and expat families in Rotterdam and across The Netherlands saw us grow, and today our inclusive international community is home to more than 230 students from over 35 countries.
From day one, our goal has been to support the unique needs of each child in a small but aspirational community. We also strive for excellence in everything we do, and in 1982 we became the first school in Europe to be accredited by the European Council of International Schools. We moved to our current campus in 1995, which was opened by Crown Prince Willem Alexander.
Our class of 1999 was the first to follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Ever since, our students have raised the bar. In 2021, they achieved an average IBDP points score of 36.9, 10% above the global average and the best results in our history.
We joined the global Nord Anglia Education family in 2018. This has brought so many benefits, from access to world-leading education technology and award-winning teacher training programmes, to exclusive collaborations with MIT and UNICEF.
