ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES

On our athletics programme, your child will get moving, try new sports, and represent Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam with pride.

Taking part in sport is vital for our students’ development. Getting active boosts their physical and emotional wellbeing, encourages teamwork, and builds resilience.

Our co-curricular primary, middle and high school athletics programme offers something for everybody. It’s comprised of intra-mural and inter-scholastic competitions, meaning some students practice and play with their friends (our intra-mural club programme), while others play against other schools or clubs (our inter-scholastic NECIS team programme).

Our coaching staff make sure every student feels like they’re contributing, progressing, and having fun through our Player Pathway (Dream, Believe, Achieve!).

Our athletic activities

Several of our sports clubs run once a week for the entire year. You’ll find the details of these in our 2022-2023 After-School Activities Handbook.

Mini-Sharks (Dream)

Our multi-sport and skill-based programme, which focuses on balance, flexibility, coordination, and body movements, is for children in Years 1-4.

Basketball club (Believe)

For aspiring basketball players in Years 2-9, placing particular emphasis on technique and small group play.

Fitness club (Believe)

For students in Years 2-9 who want to improve their fitness levels, with a particular focus on developing coordination, flexibility, body control, and speed.

NECIS school teams (Achieve)

Students chosen to represent the school train at a more intense level for the entirety of the season. Information and invitations are sent to selected students by the Athletic Director at the beginning of each season. Sports are listed in the After-School Activities Handbook.

PE kit

Our Year 3-9 students wear a PE kit. You can order and collect the kit from Mr Stuart Brown and pay into the school bank account.
