PERSONAL, SOCIAL, AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Personal, social, and emotional development is an integral element of NAIS Rotterdam’s international kindergarten curriculum.

We set time aside for children to take part in engaging activities – including role play and stories – that enable cooperation, empathy, and mutual respect. We encourage our children to become increasingly aware of others, take control of their actions, and share their feelings, too. We also have quiet time every day after lunch, where our children can rest or take part in guided meditation.

Every step of the way, our International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) teachers will keep you updated on your child’s progress.

Circle time
We love starting the day with a song and a dance. Circle time is a great way to forge friendships and swap stories, too, which helps your child develop their speaking and listening skills.

Taking it easy
It’s time to take a break from all the excitement. While our youngest learners have a nap, we introduce our children to simple mindfulness techniques, have a go at meditating, and settle down in a cosy corner for a short story.
