In the Primary section of Northbridge International School Cambodia we are steadfast in our commitment to providing the highest quality education for our students. As Head of Primary, I am thrilled to share with you our ongoing efforts to enhance academic rigor and support our students in achieving their maximum potential.
This year, we are proud to introduce additional resources and programs to complement our Primary Years Programme (PYP) approach for the International Baccalaureate (IB). Academic rigour, alongside our holistic approach, is central to our educational philosophy, driving our students to excel academically and beyond.
Our focus on academic rigour is embedded in the belief that a challenging curriculum, combined with supportive learning environments, fosters intellectual growth and prepares students for success in their academic journey. To achieve this, we have implemented several initiatives:
Comprehensive Curriculum Resources: We have invested in a range of new curriculum resources that align with the PYP framework, providing our students with comprehensive coverage of the curriculum while promoting inquiry-based learning and critical thinking skills.
Learning Enrichment Afterschool Programmes (LEAP) Programmes: Our enrichment programs offer students opportunities to explore their passions and develop new skills outside the traditional classroom setting. From STEAM sessions to creative arts and sports clubs, these programs cater to the diverse interests and talents of our students, fostering a love for learning and personal growth.
Individualised Support: We understand that every child learns differently, which is why we provide individualised support to cater to the unique needs of each student. Our dedicated teachers work closely with students to identify areas for growth and provide personalised support, ensuring that every student receives the assistance they need to succeed. Complimented by a range of different staff teams.
By enhancing academic rigor and embracing the principles of the PYP approach, we are empowering our students to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and compassionate global citizens.

When people think about leadership, what often comes to mind are the concepts of power, decision making, delegating and innovation. What are the Primary Arts all about? Is it just a load of fun and messing around? It is fun, which is why we love it but there is so much more to the programme than some people might think.
Take a visit to our early learning spaces at Northbridge International School Cambodia, both inside and out, and you will observe a wealth of play activities happening. Students are interacting in playing on their own (solo play), playing with the same thing or in the same space (mirrored play) or sharing together (collaborative play).
