On June 1, 2026, more than 150 students at Northbridge International School Cambodia (NISC) came together to celebrate learning, inquiry, and critical thinking at the Grade 11 Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition.

A core component of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, Theory of Knowledge challenges students to think beyond traditional subject content. Instead of focusing on factual recall, such as scientific formulas or language rules, TOK encourages learners to explore deeper questions, including: What counts as a good explanation? and How does language shape our understanding of knowledge?

A Milestone in the IB Journey

The TOK Exhibition marked an important academic milestone for Grade 11 students, celebrating both the completion of their first year in the course and their first externally assessed IB task. Through their exhibitions, students demonstrated their ability to evaluate multiple perspectives, weigh evidence, and develop thoughtful, well-reasoned conclusions.

Inspiring the Next Cohort

Grade 10 students were invited to attend the event, gaining valuable insight into a unique course they will begin next year. Unlike many traditional subjects, TOK does not seek a single correct answer. Instead, students learn to analyze the strengths and limitations of different viewpoints to arrive at the most compelling understanding.

The Grade 11 cohort played a key role in mentoring their younger peers, explaining how TOK works in practice and offering first-hand advice on preparing for future exhibitions. This peer-to-peer engagement reflects Northbridge’s commitment to collaborative learning and student leadership.

Developing Critical Thinkers at Northbridge

The TOK Exhibition showcased the heart of a Northbridge education: curiosity, reflection, and intellectual rigor. By engaging with real-world questions about knowledge and understanding, students develop the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly complex global landscape.

As Grade 11 students celebrate this achievement, they also set the stage for the next generation of IB learners, who will present their own exhibitions just one year from now.
