BIS Abu Dhabi shaped who I am today. The multicultural environment taught me adaptability, while the IB strengthened my resilience, time management and analytical thinking, skills I rely on every day in engineering and cybersecurity. Inspiring teachers and experiences like the service trip to Tanzania helped me discover my passion for using technology to solve real-world problems. Now completing my Master’s in Engineering and specialising in Cybersecurity at CY Tech in France, I’m grateful for the foundation BIS Abu Dhabi gave me.
I’m Sophia, and BIS Abu Dhabi shaped me into someone adaptable, confident and open to new opportunities. With the support of caring teachers, I quickly settled into studying in English and found subjects I truly enjoyed. Experiences like the Tanzania trip and taking part in the BSME sports event helped me grow more independent. Those foundations led me to the prestigious EHL Hospitality Business School in Lausanne and later to SHL in Lucerne. I’m now building my experience in the industry through a six‑month internship at the 5‑star Bürgenstock Hotel & Resort, excited for where this journey will take me next.
My name is Karolina, and my time at BIS Abu Dhabi was truly transformational. It was the first place where I could fully dedicate myself to learning while exploring my creativity through theatre and the Juilliard collaboration. Stepping into roles both on stage and behind the scenes, especially stage management, sparked my passion for filmmaking and shaped my future. I’m now in my first year of Film Production at FAMU in Prague, continuing to act while developing my skills in film production, all built on the confidence BIS Abu Dhabi helped me find.
