Celebrating one of our IGCSE 2019 highest achievers, Jong Whi. Below Jong Whi shares her thoughts about completing the course and her achievements:
How was your experience doing IGCSEs at BIS Abu Dhabi?
Though it was very stressful in the beginning, my experience doing IGCSEs has been incredibly remarkable. The teachers continuously pushed me further and were always very encouraging and supportive, both in and out of lessons, which really helped me to produce the best work I could. Throughout the two years, IGCSEs led me to improve my time management skills, which allowed me to become more organised and efficient when studying. Also, through various attempts of revising, I was able to figure out my own ways of revision that suited me best. These different skills I’ve acquired while doing IGCSEs are currently helping me vastly to go through the IB Diploma Programme.
Are you happy with your results?
Overall, I was very delighted with my results, especially with English, which I struggled with at the beginning of the course. However, throughout the two years, with active support from my teacher and immense dedication, I was able to improve greatly and managed to achieve 9s in both of my English exams. I am very thankful and proud that my hard work and effort paid off.
What are your plans for the future?
I am currently unsure of what I want to do in the future. However, I have an idea of what I want to study at university. Recently, I became very interested to discover and study different things at a molecular level. As a result, I am currently interested in studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at university. I’ve always enjoyed my science classes: various chemical experiments in Chemistry, discovering about the human body in Biology, and understanding how a variety of things work in Physics. Combining all these sciences, I believe that Chemical and Biomolecular engineering may be a suitable thing for me to further study in the future.
