Senior School Students get Cambridge Opportunity

  • cambridge

What has already been a very successful term for our Senior School was made even more special this week when two of our Year 13 students were invited for interview at Cambridge University.

Yamunaputri Seitorini and Aryan Jafri will be flying to the UK in the coming weeks to face this daunting challenge on December 7th and 12th respectively.

Getting to this stage alone is something of an achievement, the end product of a process that has involved not only putting together winning personal statements, but also having to go through the pre-interview tests set by Cambridge.

The tests, held on November 2nd, are an extra mechanism employed by the university to help them sift through applications. As a potential students of chemical engineering, Yamuna had to deal with the challenges of a range of mathematics and science questions in her two papers, whereas Aryan’s credentials as a prospective psychology student were thoroughly tested by tasks that assessed a broad range of cognitive ability with a heavy emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving skills.

The weeks ahead promise to be very trying for both girls as they have to complete their mock examinations and go through a series of practice interviews before leaving for England. We wish them both every success!
