I come from a small town called Darlington in the North East of England and although I have lived there most of my life, I was born in Bahrain and also lived in Saudi Arabia for a few years as a child. My parents have lived the expat life and I feel I was destined to do the same myself. I left England five and half years ago and I’ve never looked back!

I attended Stirling University and whilst I was at University, I spent a lot of my time as a swimmer and gained a degree in Sports and Exercise Science. Although I have a passion for sports, I have always enjoyed working with children and after doing a placement in a school, I realised I wanted to become a teacher, so I completed my PGCE in Primary Teaching.

Once qualified, I then worked in a school for four years and was also PE Co-Ordinator for the whole school. Whilst I was working at the school, I also became a qualified archery coach and led an archery CCA, which not many people know. The best thing about being a teacher is I get to see children grow and develop into confident young adults. No day is ever the same in the teaching world, which is what I love!

I love living and working in Abu Dhabi and have met so many amazing people over the years. Since being here, I have travelled to many different countries to experience different cultures, which I love to do, but I still have a long list of other places I would like to see.

My friends and family are very important to me, so outside of school I enjoy spending time with them. Due to my sporting background, I also try and stay fit and will often go to the gym and enter different sporting events. So far, I have already taken part in the 10k Pink Run and Tough Mudder. My next aim is to complete a sprint triathlon!
