I am from the picturesque county of Cork in the South of Ireland. It is very beautiful there with lots of green fields and mountains and plenty of places to go hiking.

It is in Limerick I obtained my Bachelor of Education Degree and gained a passion for teaching. After I graduated in 2013, I went to the city of Dublin where I obtained my first teaching job. Coming from a small village, I always love the hustle and bustle of city life, so I enjoyed my time living there. I taught Junior Infants and it was there I developed my passion for teaching early years.

I was lucky enough to spend many years of my younger life travelling places with my family during the summer months. Therefore, I am adventurous and like to try new things. In 2015, I made the decision that I would embark on a new adventure and move to Melbourne, Australia where I taught in a primary school. It was there I developed a love for international teaching. After the year teaching, I continued my passion for travelling and spent six months travelling to many places including New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii, Mexico and North America before returning home to my hometown.

I then obtained a teaching job in a great school in my hometown which I loved. I taught there for several years teaching many year groups from Junior Infants up to Year 2. During the summer months, I used my free time to travel and taught English in Italy and in South Africa. I loved it at home, but my adventurous side took over, and I knew I wanted to teach internationally again and find a new challenge.

I had friends who worked in Abu Dhabi and I had heard wonderful things about life there. It was The British International School that had caught my eye. I loved how the school caters for the holistic development of each student both personally, physically, academically and emotionally. Students are taught to be ambitious and challenged in new ways with no limit to learning. I heard many great things about Nord Anglia Education and on researching the BIS Abu Dhabi ethos, I knew it was for me. It was the best move myself and my husband have made and after living here for just a few months, we now feel at home here.

I am part of a wonderful team here at BIS Abu Dhabi. It is great how the curriculum is catered to student's interests and needs, and how students are challenged through fun, interactive learning environments. Every day is new and exciting. Nothing brings me more joy then watching students grow and develop throughout the year in my class.
