Message from the PTA A weekly update from our PTA - 22 Septemebr 2020 The PTA Committee would like to warmly welcome everyone to the new school year at BIS Abu Dhabi. We have successfully navigated the first few weeks with all the changes involved. Thank you to all parents and teachers who helped our children settle so successfully.

To returning parents, welcome back and to all our new families, our heartfelt welcome to our school community and Parent Teacher Association (PTA).  Every parent in school is automatically a member, so we are glad to welcome you on board.

The start of this year will be a much quieter for the PTA as sadly our much-enjoyed monthly coffee mornings, parent language classes, charity events, information talks and secondhand uniform sales are all currently on hold.

As soon as we are able to enjoy some of these activities again, we will of course let everyone know. We can still support each other and our children through our class rep roles mentioned in the brief summary below.

We welcome returning and new parents to contact us or your class teachers if you would like to help your child's class by supporting the teacher as the Class Rep, sending email reminders, connecting parents through Whatsapp groups, and generally being a face for parents to (virtually) seek out if they are unsure or need some support.

Primary Class Representatives (Reps)
Being connected in our community has become more difficult due to the current restrictions. We can ease this challenge and nurture our fantastic School Spirit by utilising our Class Rep roles.  Please contact your class teacher to volunteer and support your child's class.

Secondary Year Representatives (Reps)We all know when our children reach Secondary School, they do not need to see us around as much, however, this does not mean we do not get to be involved in our school community.  Parents can still make new connections, share experiences and advise.  Year reps help to facilitate this, while liaising with the Head of Year to share updates and reminders when required.  Please email us on bisadpta@gmail.com to volunteer.
