What is STEAM?

We're very excited about Nord Anglia's collaboration with MIT and the new STEAM curriculum. Find out what we mean by 'STEAM' below...

Nord Anglia Education has teamed up with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), one of the most influential universities in the world, to design a new approach to learning the interdisciplinary subjects of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and maths).

STEAM education recognises that to be successful in technical fields, individuals must also be creative and use critical thinking skills which are best developed through exposure to the arts. Through hands-on practical problem-solving, this new approach to STEAM subjects will help students to develop the skills essential for success in the 21st century.

In April St. Andrews students will have their first taste of this incredible partnership when they visit MIT to take part in STEAM activities at the Cambridge Science Festival, including robotics, coding and bioengineering. We can't wait to hear how they get on!
