Music: Christmas Concerts and Carol Singing

Primary School Music

Concerts Galore

This is a very exciting time of year for the Music Department and all the musicians in school. Last week we had our first Christmas concert and it was very special as it featured the children and teachers of our new instrumental music ECAs. The children impressed everyone with just how far they have progressed already in only 10 weeks and we are looking forward to seeing how they get on next term as well.

A big THANK YOU to the teachers of Opus one School of Music for helping working with these children this term.

If your child is interested in learning an instrument here is what is on offer with our new instrumental ECAs in Term 2:

Monday ECA:
Clarineo - Years 3-4
Piano Disney Songs - Years 2-3

Tuesday Lunchtime ECAs (half an hour):
Piano Skills - Year 2 group and Year 3-6 group
Flute - Years 4-6

Tuesday ECA:
Clarinet - Years 4-6
Violin - Years 4-6
Piano Skills - Years 4-6

Wednesday ECA:
Piano Pop Songs - Years 4-6

Friday ECA:
Trumpet - Years 4-6
Saxophone - Years 4-6

This is a great option for children who are learning clarinet, flute, trumpet, violin or saxophone in their music lessons already and want to develop more confidence in the basics. We will also accept children who are beginners and want to explore a new instrument.

Carol Singing

Last Friday STA Sing Girls got us off to a Christmasy start in the Library with some carols! On Wednesday 6 December they will be performing in the Marriott Hotel at Thonglor for the lighting of their Christmas Tree. We wish them all the best for this exciting event!

YOUR TURN! This Friday (8 December) we invite you all to come and take apart in STA House Community Carol singing in the Year 6 quad.

Key Stage 2 Christmas Concert Programmes

This year we will have 2 concerts for Key Stage 2 at Christmas and these will include lots of our ECAs. Here is a guide to who will be performing when.

• Carol Singing in the Year 6 Quad - 8 December - open to all! Just come along and sing…..for fun and house points. Parents included!

• Year 2 Christmas Show - The Little Lost Kitten 6 and 7 December

• EY Christmas Show - Friday 8 December

• Reception Christmas - Friday 8 December

High School Music

The High School has had a very musical week with two lunchtime concerts and a Choir performance at the Athenee Hotel supporting our House Charity, Central Thailand Mission. Very well done to all the performers and thank you to everyone who came to support the events.

We are now in the final stages of preparations for the Christmas Concert. We hope you and your families can join us on Thursday 14 December at 4.00 p.m. in the Sports Hall.
