Our PE Team

Let me guide you through our large team, as I know you will need to know who to go to if you’re interested in your child participating in sport this year.

At our Primary School, PE will be led by Mr. Damon, Head of Primary PE & Sport (damon.se@standrews.ac.th).  All matters concerning Primary PE can be directed to him. He will be supported by K. Seung and Mr. Bob. It’s a pleasure to welcome Mr. Bob back to our team after spending the past two years in Malaysia.

The Primary Swim Team is led by Khun Goh, with Khun Nok, Khun Tow, Khun Tang. Please contact K. Goh (goh.ph@standrews.ac.th) regarding swimming. K. Nok will be lifeguard.

At our High School, I will lead our team with Mr. Adam (adam.cu@standrews.ac.th) coordinating our GCSE and IB programmes and Mr. Pat (pat.go@standrews.ac.th) managing our sports fixtures. Mr. Ian and Miss Wendy continue to be key parts of our programme.

Khun X (x.ch@standrews.ac.th) will run High School Swimming, supported by Khun Win, Khun Pat and Khun Ken. Khun Gorn will lifeguard.

For any matters concerning whole school PE and Sport, please contact me, as I continue to lead the whole school programme. My office is in the Gold building at High School (ollie.fa@standrews.ac.th).

Finally, for daily logistical and administrative matters, please contact Miss Aanchal (aanchal.mi@standrews.ac.th), our administrative support. She is located in the School Office in High School.

Please note that trials begin next week as follows:

Primary Sports Information

Last year was a massive success for Primary sport and we are looking to extend and grow in 2017/2018.

We have lots of opportunities within our new sports program and many competitions throughout the academic year.

The swim programme will continue to grow with more space in the pool for our Primary children. The important dates are below.

  • 24th-30th August 2017: Swim Squad Time Trials

Please email our Head of Primary Swimming Khun Goh for more details (goh.ph@standrews.ac.th)

We have a new Head Coach for tennis and there will be 3 ECA's available for Years 1, 2, 3 and 4. Also, the Flames Tennis will train every Thursday and this is for the selected players from Year 4, 5 and 6.

Gymnastics is a new sport we're developing this year and we will have 4 ECAs and 1 Primary Flames Gymnastics Squad for Year 4, 5, 6 (every Thursday).

There will be Basketball squads for U9/U11 boys and girls, with the U11 teams now being able to train after school rather than lunchtime as in previous years.

Basketball for U11 girls is on Mondays and U11 boys is on Thursdays, both from 2.45-4.15pm. Basketball for U9 boys and girls will be on Friday lunchtime (12.40-1.10pm).

Football squad training for U9/U11 boys (Year 3, 4, 5, 6) will be on a Monday as usual but U9/U11 girls(Year 3, 4, 5, 6) will change to a Tuesday. This is to allow more squads to train with our coaches and to have the extra coaching time to develop.

Our Year 1 and 2 squad will now train on a Wednesday from 2.45-3-45 in the KS1 Sports Hall.

Also along with weekly Monday-Friday training with Bangkok Soccer Schools (STA ECA program) we also have BSS squad training on Saturday mornings:

On the field

  • Girls A Squad U11/U9 from 8.45-10.00am.
  • Boys Year 1-2 Squad 10.00-11.15am.

In the KS1 Sports Hall (open clubs)

  • Year 1 & 2 Girls 9-10am
  • Year 3,4,5 & 6 Girls 10-11am

There will be Badminton squads for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 with training extended to one and a half hours after school rather than 30 minutes in previous years. The badminton sessions will be open until the new year when this time will be used just for the badminton squad.

  • Boys Badminton is on Tuesdays 2.45-4.15pm
  • Girls Badminton is on Wednesdays 2.45-4.15pm

Please if you have any questions about any of the sports or opportunities next year then please email me damon.se@standrews.ac.th

Please note that we use email for day-to-day communication regarding sports events. Please ensure school has an up-to-date email address for you.

We post regularly to the St Andrews Facebook page and I’d recommend liking it so that you can see photos of our teams out and about.

We send surveymonkey forms for many events. It would be much appreciated if you could be diligent about completing them, so that we have accurate information to pass to our Transport Department.

Upcoming Events

As we begin to form our many squads, we’re already planning some major experiences for STA Flames members. We have the U15 FOBISIA Games in November at the Thanyapura Sports Resort in Phuket, and we’re hosting the NAE South East Asia Primary Games in December. Mr. Damon will contact Primary parents soon about this.

We’ll be sending football teams as usual to the Phuket 7s in November, and entering FOBISIA Tennis also. We will also host our annual STA Swim Champs this term.

There are many games and meets in between and they can be found on the STA Sports Calendar on Google alongside our school one. If you have problems accessing this, please contact Miss Aanchal.
