New Music Teachers

This week and last week, our Year 5 and 6 students have been treated to some special mini-concerts in their music lessons. Our class instrumental programme for Years 5 and 6 will be delivered by our new instrumental specialists this year and the children will work with them in small groups to develop their playing. We would like to welcome Mr Wan, Miss Nat, Miss Bow, Mr Note and Miss Beau to St Andrews International School Bangkok and look forward to working with them this year.

We also have a new class music teacher, Mr Nick Curror, who will work with Mrs Alice and Mrs Marie to deliver the music curriculum for Years 1-6. Mr Nick is a teacher and pianist from the UK, and he’s going to be a great addition to our music team.

Please contact Mrs Alice, Head of Primary Music, if you have any questions about your child’s music lesson on alice.or@standrews.ac.th.

FOBISIA Auditions

This year the FOBISIA Primary Music Festival will be hosted by the British School of Manila from 21-24 March 2019 and it promises to be a wonderful event with lots of challenge and opportunity for our advanced level musicians.

If your child plays an orchestral instrument - strings, brass, woodwind - or sings, and has reached a level of around ABRSM Grade 2 or equivalent, please help them prepare for an audition this week: 29 and 30 August from 2:45 p.m.-3:45 p.m. in Mrs. Alice’s room, E13.

If you are not sure of your child’s standard but think they may be ready for this please bring them along anyway as this is a good opportunity for the music teachers to get familiar with your child’s level of playing.
