A variety of House competitions have kept the St Andrews International School Bangkok Primary School busy in different ways.

A large number of students came to take part in Mr Nick’s coding competition last Friday. It was great to see them use their ICT skills in such a productive and successful way! Congratulations to Arm for being the first student to complete the coding challenge.

Ms Helen was quite overwhelmed by the fantastic response to her Eco-Beast competition, which was launched last week. The purpose of this competition is to design a beast logo for the new sustainability website.

This website has been designed with the intention of uniting the Bangkok international school community around issues of sustainability in an attempt to make our city cleaner, greener and more environmentally aware. The competition is running in 16 other Bangkok schools and the official date to announce the overall school winner will be after half term.

Ms Helen liked one student's design so much that she was given the chance to harvest and take home an enormous bok choy that had grown in the vegetable garden on the roof of the R building!

Year 8 students explore sustainable architecture beyond the classroom

In Term 2 of their Design and Technology (DT) curriculum, Year 8 students explored sustainable architecture, visiting two architectural sites to witness eco-friendly design in action. Engaging directly with architects, they discovered the use of unconventional materials like earth and rubber wood plywood, inspiring them to consider sustainability in their future designs.
