St Andrews students awarded DELF Diploma from the French Ministry for National Education and Youth French is the 5th most widely-spoken language in the world and the 2nd most learnt foreign language globally. Understanding the value of imparting quality education and preparing its students for the future world of work.

French is the 5th most widely-spoken language in the world and the 2nd most learnt foreign language globally. We understand the value of imparting quality education and preparing our students for the future world of work. Therefore, we take language learning to the next level. Learn more below...

The two passionate students (above) gained top scores in the key four competencies (listening, reading, writing and speaking) in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) designed by the Council of Europe. Maya and Jensen are motivated to learn the language and aspire to interact with French first-language speakers.

“Since Jensen’s father and older brother have also studied French, passion for learning this language started at home. We encourage our son to read one or two French articles every day and help him learn unfamiliar words. Activities done at home paired with professional and engaging teaching, are boosting Jensen’s love for French. In the future, he would also like to travel and study in France, said Ms. Irene, Jensen’s mom.

Parents’ awareness of the cultural and social benefits of learning languages was also echoed by Ms Suge, Maya’s mom:

“Maya's interest in French was apparent since she began learning this language in school. We approached her French teacher, Ms Mabell, to seek opportunities to expand our child’s knowledge of the French language and we were advised to take the DELF exam. We are delighted to know that Maya has passed her A1 with an excellent score. Encouraging her to continue studying for and taking the next exam levels, will open up opportunities for Maya to study in France in the near future.”

Teacher Ms Mabell, also a certified DELF / DALF Examiner and former instructor at Alliance Française in Bahrain and Shanghai strongly encourages learners to test and validate their language proficiency.

“Once students reach level A1, preparing them to sit the DELF Prim exam boosts their pride and confidence in language learning, and motivates them, even more, to continue with the next levels (A2, B1, B2, C1, C2)”, said Ms Mabell.

St Andrews International School Bangkok invests in students’ growth. Our qualified educators are both teachers and guides helping students reach their full potential and discover their own paths.
