After nine years of working as a Teacher of English Language and Literature in both the United Kingdom and Russia, with my last two years in the UK having the added responsibility as that of Head of Psychology, I decided to further my professional career and gain experience in international education by joining a well-established and highly regarded international school. After much research, I found that St. Andrews had all the professional attributes and standards I sought within an educational establishment. I joined St. Andrews as a Teacher of English in 2009 and, subsequently, became Head of the English Department in 2010.
Outside of work, most of my time is dedicated to completing my studies for an MA in Education with a UK university. I enjoy reading world literature along with absorbing the rich and varied cultural experiences that both Thailand and South East Asia have to offer. I also like aerobics as well as foreign travel with my husband.
I have found that my time at St. Andrews has been both personally and professionally rewarding due to the family-like and inclusive educational environment that supports all students in their personal and educational development, helping them to attain and achieve often above their personal goals and aspirations. It has to be said that we as teachers and educators also learn from our students.
I am happy to state from my personal observations and without any reservation that these high professional standards are maintained by a professional, motivated and dedicated staff who are supported at all levels by a caring, respected and highly effective management team who have helped St. Andrews to become the inclusive, progressive and highly regarded school that it is today. I am very proud to be part of the St. Andrews family and its educational ethos.
