What can you expect?
Inspiring lessons from your child’s teacher make every Virtual School day an engaging one. Your Early Years child will:
- Take part in real-time lessons with their world-class teachers every day using a safe and secure platform
- Have fun trying new activities online and offline
- Develop essential skills and nurture curiosity through independent learning and play
- As parents, you will receive regular updates from your child’s teachers on their progress and achievements.
What does an Early Years Virtual School day look like?
8:45 AM – Parents are encouraged to read and engage with comments/feedback provided by teachers on the previous day's learning.
9:00 AM – Listen as the teachers welcome the day, reflecting the classroom routine to help the children feel secure.
9:05 AM – Engage in daily phonics lesson, tailored to your child's ability.
9:45 AM – Select child-initiated play activities to engage your child with learning skills from a range of curriculum areas. This range of activities is provided by the teachers weekly and is based around a theme (for example: The Very Hungry Caterpillar).
11:00 AM – Participate in a Creative Arts/language activity with one of our specialist teachers. (ex: Dance, Music, Art, French, Spanish)
12:00 PM – Read a book from the personalized online book bag or choose from books that have been collected from school.
1:30 PM – Engage in a 1:1 session with the class teacher/listen to them read a favorite story. (*Foundation 2)
2:00 PM – Listen to this week's ‘Mystery Reader’!
4:00 PM – Upload photographs and provide parent comments/feedback using an online learning platform, so that teachers can engage with what the children have been learning at home.
Weekly Literacy, Writing and Mathematics-Focused Activities
We record these teacher-led sessions so that parents may access them when they are ready/it fits into the family's schedule.
We also offer weekly class Zoom sessions to grant children the opportunity to see one another and promote community.
