Upper School Teacher, PE Specialist

I am a dedicated High School teacher from Liverpool in the United Kingdom. I received my BA with QTS Hons degree from Liverpool John Moores University in Primary (Elementary) and Secondary (High) School Education specializing in both Maths and Physical Education.

I was inspired and motivated into teaching through watching and learning from excellent teachers throughout my schooling experience.  I have a desire to inspire children and young people in developing their own unique skills, talents and understanding in all areas of their learning.

I chose to move to the United States and work within the British International School of Charlotte, due to its high values and standards of education. I wanted to become part of a team with such a drive and determination to deliver such high standards of education both inside and outside of the classroom.

I would consider myself a highly active person with a passion for life and laughter. I enjoy traveling and experiencing new places and cultures and learning from each of those experiences however big or small.  I enjoy spending time outside running, swimming and enjoy working out and attending classes at the gym. I love being surrounded by friends and family and could think of no place I’d rather be than at the beach.  I met my husband Alex within my first year in Charlotte and we were married in August of 2013 and are incredibly excited to be expecting out first child in October of 2014. I am excited and motivated to take on my next challenge of being a Mummy.

Why is the British International School of Charlotte different …….. I have worked with incredible educators in fantastic schools all over the world but I have never worked with such a collective group of colleagues that are unique individuals with so many talents and passions. I have never worked with colleagues that share the same philosophy and drive for enriching the lives of students from 2 to 16 both inside and outside of the classroom. There are no boundaries on the lengths they will go to create open minded, confident and highly effective adults of the future. They are each an inspiration which make this place so special and unique.

They however cannot do it alone. We are also unique due to the students that step through our front door. They value and appreciate education and seek to know and understand the world around them. They strive to develop and improve and make the staff and the school proud on a daily basis.
