The Physical and Health Education program at Léman is a great source of pride for us. As a school that values the complete well-being of our students, the benefits of a strong PHE program are many. Obviously, the physical health of our students is chief amongst these, but they are one of many considerations. Not only do students enjoy the physical benefits from our robust program, but they also gain a lot of social knowledge and sportsmanship. We want our students to truly enjoy physical activity and for it to be something they participate in through their entire lives. Work-life balance is something for everyone to strive for and our students are no different. Athletics are also shown to improve academic results, giving the brain a chance to think differently and analyze complex situations rapidly.
We place a lot of importance on giving our students an opportunity to explore many different types of athletic activities. As students grow up, we ensure that they experience both individual and team activities, collaborative and competitive activities as well as activities that rely on power, explosion, endurance, finesse and technique. We focus on drills and skills as well as game situations and tactics.
From elementary school all the way through Grade 12, our students have many opportunities to represent Léman in athletic competition. We are proud members of the CISA athletic conference in Chengdu, as well as the ACAMIS conference which stretches all across China and the Global Games initiative for enjoyable competition and engagement within the Nord Anglia School Group.
It is our aim to provide the fullest athletic experience possible for all of our students, both through our PHE program and our athletic competitions. We are very proud to be a part of your child’s development every day.
