I am from the UK and graduated from the University of York with a History BA. After receiving my bachelor’s degree, I went on to complete my PGCE from the University of Warwick. I first worked as a Year 3 teacher in the UK and then moved to China where I taught in International Schools in Shanghai and later Nanjing. Teaching in China for the past 5 years, I have gained a great deal of experience working with EAL learners and can speak Chinese proficiently. I am in the process of completing my Master’s in Professional Education and I am very excited to put what I have learnt about supporting EAL learners into practice in my new role as an EAL teacher.
In my spare time I enjoy hiking and cycling outdoors, especially in scenic spots. I take every opportunity I can to travel as I love exploring new cultures and cuisines. I’m also a fan of drama and the theatre. Consequently, I’m always interested in seeing touring productions in China or visiting the West End when I go back to London. For lazy days, I enjoy watching movies and TV series or curling up with a good book.
