I am from Wolverhampton in the UK, a city that is becoming more famous due in part to the success of the local football team, which I am a proud lifelong supporter. After I graduated from university, I came to China to travel and taught for a year. Although I had never thought about teaching as a career path before, I fell in love with the job and so decided to pursue a career in teaching. After my first year of teaching, I returned to England where I completed my PGCE in secondary maths teaching. Since then, I have worked at various schools in England and China, teaching A-level, GCSE and IB Mathematics.
I really enjoy teaching mathematics and particularly enjoy teaching maths with real world problem solving in mind. Teaching students to take the mathematical knowledge from the classroom and apply it to real world problems that they can see and experience all around them really inspires me to continually develop as a teacher and always strive to make lessons more engaging for students.
In my personal time I enjoy travelling, cooking, cycling and other various sports. I love travelling and experiencing all the different cultures and (especially) the food from all over the world and particularly around Asia.
