We are delighted to announce that UNICEF has once again invited Nord Anglia Education students to participate in a bespoke, UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) event. This is a unique opportunity, exclusive to NAE, where our student ambassadors will engage in meaningful, global conversations to share what actions they, and their peers, are taking to tackle the Sustainable Development Goals, including through our annual Global Challenge. BIS Houston students Sana and Sruthri will take centre stage!

What and when is the event?

The event will take place during the second week of the HLPF in July 2022 and includes workshops with UNICEF and UNICEF partners and a specially-convened meeting in support of the UN’s High Level Political Forum

2022 HLPF Focus

‘Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’

Sana has been a UNICEF ambassador at BISH for the last 3 years and is currenlty the school UNICEF president. As well as playing a leading role in all of the school-wide UNICEF activiites such as the assemblies and organising World Children's Day events she has shown iniaitve extending this role and leading many projects such as teaching some of the younger students about the SDGs and organising fund raisers such as 'blind date with a book'.

Sruthi has taken on the role of the  Global Campus lead for UNICEF. She wants to promote this as a safe community that discusses about the global issues as many students forget about this valuable resource. As a result, we can promote the monthly global goals around our school more often to present their importance.

Both students will help lead the global challenge on recycling.

This is a unique honour for our students to contribute and engage in meaningful, global conversations to share what actions they, and their peers, are taking to tackle the Sustainable Development Goals, including through our annual Global Challenge. We look forward to sharing more over the summer.
