The goal of the Russian Second Native Language Program is to provide Russian speaking students the opportunity to study their native language and to develop such important speech skills as speaking, reading, listening, and writing. This course is for the bilingual children (that is the majority) based on the adaptive approach. The lessons are run by a teacher to guide the children along the educational process to keep their learning motivation.
If there is enough interest the class of “Russian as a foreign language” may be organised.
Currently, there is a group of students in Years 5 – 8 who are working to improving their proficiency levels.
There will be regular assessments throughout the year in the form of writing a dictation, a composition or a test. All students on the program will receive a MT report alongside their general academic report. A formal type of assessment (upon parents’ request) may be arranged and provided.
