I have worked with children for the past twenty years. I first started working in a private nursery in Cheshire where I did my Early Childhood qualifications. I loved working in Early Years so much that I decided to take my full teaching degree and I completed this in 2013. For the past eight years I worked in Early Years 1 and 2 in the Middle East. I loved the diversity of the children I had the privilege to work with and learnt so much about the importance of International schools in preparing children for a truly global future. After six years at the Nord Anglia school in Doha, I decided I wanted a new challenge and when the opportunity arose at BISH I jumped at the opportunity. I have been an active member of the Nord Anglia Early Years forum for the last year and along with additional Early Years training I have undertaken over the past few years, I feel that I can bring a global perspective, as well as, Early Years experience, along with me to Houston.

I grew up in America, and have always been drawn to working with children. I received my BA in Elementary Education and then my MA in Education - Early Childhood. I have worked in various Early Years Programs and Primary Schools for the past 20 years, as a Teacher and as an Administrator. Previous to BISH, I worked at a World IB school in Tortola, British Virgin Islands as a class teacher and held the position of Technology Instruction Teacher for all of Primary School. The opportunity to move to Katy and work at BISH was truly a blessing, as my wife and I had been displaced after Hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated our home and the BVI.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lone Star College. I decided to take a break from school to have more time to dedicate to my family. I have worked with students ranging from 3years - 14years of age. I knew working with kids was my passion when I began my first Preschool job! I have since then continued to work with students, whether it is educating them in English and Math or Life Skills. I work afternoons as a teacher in a Learning Center. I tutor students in Math and English, its an additional way for me to interact with students. There's no better feeling than knowing you've had an impact on a child's life!

    About you

I came to Houston 11 years ago from England with my family, we moved here for my husband’s job and my son has been at BISH since he was in Year 2.  We live in Katy and enjoy what Houston has to offer but also like to travel to other States. We love to ski, hike and take road trips!

This School is different to all others I have worked at because…

I love the BISH philosophy of allowing the child freedom to explore their interests, manage their time and learn in the way that works best for them. I am especially excited to be working in the early years program where the class size and neighbourhood allows this to happen and gives the children a wonderful foundation for learning.
