I studied Primary Education at Canterbury Christ Church University. After graduating, I moved to Germany, where I taught in a British school in Cologne. I worked there for two years before taking some time out to travel. During this time, I spent four months in Africa, which included living with a family and helping them develop a school and orphanage in Mozambique. Following this, I returned to the UK, where I worked in schools in the south of England. I have always enjoyed having opportunities to visit and live in other places abroad, so when the opportunity to move to Houston occurred I was very excited at this new prospect. I am looking forward to the new experiences and challenges this will provide.
I love to travel and experience different cultures and meet new people. I love being outside, going hiking or taking part in muddy adventure runs are activities I particularly enjoy. I also like rock climbing when I have the opportunity. I love to challenge myself, I recently started learning British Sign Language and since moving to the States I have been trying to learn some American Sign Language. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to try new things and am looking forward to experiencing the Texan way of life.
This School is different to all others I have worked at because…
BISH is different from other schools I have taught at because of the diversity of experiences each child has. It provides amazing opportunities for the children to learn in a range of ways which really individualizes their learning.
