Sparks

Light up your summer in our pre-school program for students aged 3-5 who are not yet in Kindergarten. Develop social skills, physical coordination, and creativity through age appropriate skills and activities in special classes incorporated into their weekly schedule. Our teaching artists from the Juilliard and MIT curricula and guest coaches will weave our weekly themes into all of their lessons. This program has a flexible time schedule and a framework that offers plenty of freedom of choice and time to move from one activity to another. Flexible environments allow teachers to be responsive to the interests of the children, freeing them to construct knowledge together. World-class teachers who specialize in early childhood education will guide your child through their learning.

Camp schedule:  9:00-3:30 p.m.

Flames

Build the fire of learning in our primary program for students aged 5-11 who are already in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our elementary program emphasizes hands-on exploration, active participation, and team-building with our world-class teachers who collaborate with  Juilliard and MIT. Exciting, themed camps incorporate Unicef’s global goals. Students are engaged and challenged to investigate, create, and participate in our varied and engaging curriculum which includes Science, Sports, Technology, and Performing Arts.

Camp schedule:  9:00-3:30 p.m.

LIT’s

Leaders In Training is our program for students aged 11-14 who are in or entering Middle School. With a focus on leadership, these students will take their learning in STEAM, Sports, and the Performing Arts and apply it to real-world issues in our community.  Part of their weekly themed experience will be participation in a give-back activity where they will collaborate to help make a direct impact on improving life in our community.

Camp schedule:  9:00-3:30 p.m.

FAQs

What is student-centered, inquiry-based learning?

Our award-winning approach to 21st century education goes well beyond asking a student what he or she wants to know. Teachers activate curiosity by posing, investigating, and answering questions. Students are at the center of our curriculum as they learn to research, learn, and understand the world around them.

Is English the only language spoken on campus?

We are an international community with over 50 countries represented in our student body during the school year. Many of our teachers and students are bilingual, and our staff is committed to assisting students with their learning. If you have questions about the languages spoken, please contact the camp director at BISHsummer@houston.nae.school

Can we visit the campus before signing up?

Yes! Tours are led through our award-winning campus by admissions staff throughout the week.  Please call 713 290 9025 to make an appointment. For Early Years (pre-school) students, you are also able to attend a playdate in the neighborhood. To schedule a playdate, please contact assistant camp director Kristen Arbolino

Do I need to attend British International School in order to come to camp?
