I started my career in the education field with British Council Kuala Lumpur after completing a teaching course. I was offered to be an Assistant Teacher for pre-school and primary school aged children. I worked and gained experience as an assistant teacher for 4 years. Additionally, I've worked as an Exam Invigilator at British Council for 2 years, invigilating APTIS Examination (An English proficiency test for adults). Following my passion to work with children, I've worked in other school settings such as Garden International School, Tadika Alim Amal and finally as a Tuition Teacher before joining British International School Kuala Lumpur in September 2019.
I was born and bred in Selangor, Malaysia. My dearest family consists of my parents, 3 older brothers, sister-in-law, 2 cheeky nieces and few cats. In my free time, I'd usually experiment baking using new recipes. I often sew clothes or try sewing different projects such as Memory Blanket. "Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave." - Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) This quote will always be a motivation in my life to never stop seeking knowledge at any point in my life. Seeking knowledge is a virtue that doesn't only benefit the seeker, but the whole mankind.
"Wow. Miss Jef, look at this!" The accomplishment shown by just stacking 3 blocks together is the happiest and proudest moment of a 3 year old student. A student's happiness is as simple as being capable of achieving anything and having the adults that cheer for them. In the early years setting, often we think we are teaching the children. The truth is that, it is them teaching us to be a better teacher. At BSKL, we provide the opportunity for students to express their individuality in the best way possible and fully supported.
