As I didn't have a teaching degree, I took time out from work to pursue a PGCE in Primary Education, and upon completing this, I stayed on at my placement school in London for the following two years. During this time, I taught year 3 and 5 as well as leading maths for KS2 in my second year. Once I had completed these two years, I decided I wanted some experience working in as many different types of schools as possible. I was able to work as a supply teacher, gaining valuable experience in every year group from nursery to year 6, and in many areas across London and Surrey. Through this, I was able to find a great school which I stayed at for two years teaching year 2 and 3, as well as leading D.T and Music. Finally, after accepting a job at BSKL, but not being able to attend due to the pandemic, I moved back to my first school for a year, teaching year 4, while greatly anticipating my move to KL.
I have many hobbies which include golf, basketball, hiking, reading and travelling. Golf was a passion of mine since high school where I enjoyed playing in tournaments across London and a few in Europe. Now that I am in Kuala Lumpur, I look forward to playing over here as well as exploring my other passion of travelling - looking to visit many countries on this side of the world. Music has always been a passion of mine, and love introducing my class to new types of music as well as being introduced to different styles myself. I have always been a fan of rock music, having attended many festivals when I was younger. However, now I enjoy expanding my musical horizons to include many styles I come across.
For me, having students who are happy and confident is an integral part of the learning process. Fostering a fun learning environment, which is centred around the children's interests, will breed confidence and enjoyment in learning.
