Mr Florian L'Hostis

Florian L'Hostis

Physics Teacher & International Award (IA) Coordinator

Mr Florian L'Hostis joins us from Garden International School where he has been teaching Physics to A-Level for the last two years. He previously worked as Physics Coordinator in the UK. Florian holds a PGCE, MEng in Electrical Engineering and an MEng in Physical Chemistry. He will also be the new IA Coordinator. Florian worked for a range of company in R&D and research institutes, as well as software engineering in the financial sector and the semiconductor industry.

I am French half Belgium half Breton, I like outdoor pursuit and in the last 5 years I have trained in particular for Half and Full Ironman. I love Hiking, Jungle running and climbing. Cooking is high on the list too. I have lived more abroad than in my own country. I relish learning new culture. What I learnt is that it is almost impossible to really know what you like until your try, so I tried a lot ! From pure intellectual work in university to outdoor pursuit instructor, and everything in between. Teaching give the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on other in our world and I found solace in knowing that I am contributing to my community.

Happiness is everything and seeing our student grow and strive in a joyful environment is a true measure of success. In our science lesson but above all as the IA coordinator I can see student growing, learning and developing as individual. In our adventurous Journey in IA we have the immense privilege to interact with our student and develop them in soft skills, social interaction and the discovery of the world around them. An individual in harmony with their peers and their own talents.
