School Cafeteria

Our cafeteria at NAISR is known as ‘Tjeerd’s Place’ and is part of VRC Catering, which has been catering international schools and local Dutch schools in the Netherlands for over 35 years.

Parents in Cafeteria

At NAISR, Tjeerd’s Place serves around 300 students and staff every day and offers a full range of international style foods. Every day Tjeerd’s Place offers a healthy school menu including both hot and cold options.

We ensure that the lunch and snack options from the cafeteria are healthy, balanced and appropriate for our students and their developmental needs. The school lunch menus are available each month on our website or alternatively from the front office.

You may also choose to send a lunch from home. A lunch brought from home should include healthy options, such as a sandwich, fruit and/or vegetables, and a drink (no sweets, chips, chocolate, cookies or soft drinks are allowed).

Whilst Foundation 2 to Year 13 students may eat lunch in the cafeteria, Foundation 1 sudents eat lunch in their classroom.

All students should bring a healthy snack and a drink from home for their morning break. We ask that families do not send sweets, chips, chocolate, cookies or soft drinks with your child but, instead, provide healthy snacks for them to eat such as fruit, granola bars, or carrot sticks, etc., along with juice, water or milk to drink.

Lunch is not the only meal served at our cafeteria; the cafeteria opens at 7:30am every school day and offers a variety of freshly baked breakfast options. Parents are always welcome to stop by for a bagel or coffee.

MyCashless

Our school uses the lunch card system called ‘MyCashless’, which allows parents to top up money on their child’s lunch card online. Children are able to purchase a school lunch from the monthly menu or choose from a selection of food with this card.

Cashless Cards can be purchased directly from Tjeerd in the cafeteria for a one-off fee of €2.75 and cards can be kept for the entire duration of your child’s stay at NAISR.

In Primary School, the cards should be kept in the cafeteria and managed daily by the head chef, Tjeerd. Secondary School students will be responsible for their own cards. In addition, Secondary School students, as well as staff and parents are able to purchase products with pin or cash.

The costs for students are as follows:

  • Early Years: €3.50 per school lunch menu
  • Year 1 through Year 6: €3.75 per school lunch menu
  • Secondary students may buy the set menu (€3.75), or choose from a variety of hot food. Prices vary with quantity and selections.

We encourage parents to activate the automatic top-up setting, to ensure that you will never have an insufficient balance on your child's lunch card. The automatic top up recharges your account whenever your balance falls below zero, and also reduces the top up charge from 50c to 30c each time.

Automatic Top Up Instructions can be found below.

Lost card? With MyCashless, parents are able to withdraw money and cancel their card via www.mycashless.nlwww.mycashless.nl or via the MyCashless App and new Cashless Cards can be purchased at the cafeteria.
