  • Ana Isabel Alcalá Molina

    Ana Isabel Alcalá Molina

    Foundation 1 Teacher (Pre-K1)

    Ana Isabel Alcalá Molina

    Ana Isabel was born and lived in Spain until she graduated from University as a Teacher in Early Childhood Education. Ana, as most people call her, has always been very clear about what her profession would be. Ana says that she was born with that vocation and she feels great magnetism when she interacts with children.

    Ana moved to the Netherlands more than five years ago and since then she has not stopped working with children. Ana has worked almost three years as a Teacher Assistant at American School of The Hague in Wassenaar.

    Despite not having her family in the Netherlands, Ana has created her own with great friends. With them, Ana shares great hobbies such as Scuba Diving and Rock Climbing. Ana defines herself as a person 'who is always on the go'. She is currently learning to play piano and plans to study a Master's Degree in International Education.

  • Kelly McErlean

    Kelly McErlean

    Year 4 (and Foundation 1) Teacher

    Kelly McErlean

    Kelly is originally from South Africa. She graduated from the University of Johannesburg with an Honours Degree in Visual Arts and began her career working in public relations at an art gallery. She discovered her passion for teaching when she completed a children's yoga teacher training programme and began teaching art and mindfulness to children. Kelly went on to complete a Diploma via Montessori Teacher Training and later received a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. 

    Kelly joined the NAISR team in 2017 as the Pre-K1 (F1) teacher. She loves teaching the youngest students at NAISR and guiding them as they develop and grow through meaningful inquiry and play. Kelly is particularly interested in facilitating learning through a holistic approach to learning and development.

    F1 (PK1) Educational Assistant

    Helen Carroll

    Originally from Dublin, Ireland Helen is now in her tenth year as a educational assistant with the three year old programme (F1) at NAISR.

    Following second level education she had a career in banking for many years, followed by a position in a residential and care facility in Ireland. During this time Helen developed an interest in child welfare and education which led to a qualification in childcare.

    Helen has a love of working with children, especially enriching young minds through play and mindful experiences. She enjoys watching the students grow and reach milestones.

    Douglas McNeill

    Foundation 2 (Pre-K2) Teacher

    Douglas McNeill

    Dougie was born and raised in the bustling city of Glasgow in Scotland. Having studied Psychology at university with a particular focus in Child Development, he followed his family’s footsteps into Education. After working as a teacher in Scotland and volunteering across Europe, he moved to Chicago in the US to work in International Education for 9 years. Having completed a second masters in International Education and led in International Early Years Curriculum, Dougie has a particular interest in nurturing emotional regulation in students and utilising play as a means to learn.

    Dougie believes that Early Years education is a magical place, where young minds can be captured through imagination and where solid foundations can be built for successful and confident young learners. Dougie is excited to join the NAISR community and to explore life in the Netherlands.

  • Dorota Ravenhorst

    Dorota Ravenhorst

    F2 (PK2) Educational Assistant

    Dorota Ravenhorst

    Dorota is originally from Poland. She graduated from the Silesian University in Katowice with a Master degree in Political Science. Since graduating, she worked in several advertising agencies and through this experience she has gained a strong set of communication skills.

    She found her true passion for teaching and working with young children when she joined NAISR in 2011. Three years later she completed a post graduate study in pedagogical preparation. Dorota loves to support children in their educational development. Every day she enjoys being a part of an environment where our youngest students can explore, learn, play, enquire and, most importantly, have fun!

    She is interested in the idea of Non-violent Communication (NVC) by Marshall Rosenberg which helps her to better understand and respect the needs of children. Her two sons are happy members of NAISR.
