Julianne is originally from N. Ireland and completed her BA honours degree in English Literature and Sociology at the University of Leeds in England. During her degree she also spent a year in Copenhagen studying medieval literature. She moved to London when she completed her university degree and subsequently studied for a CELTA certificate with International House London, which would allow her to travel and teach English to foreign students abroad.
Julianne first taught English in Madrid, Spain with the same organisation, International House. She completed the CELTA Young Learners Certificate and took an additional language awareness course whilst working in Madrid. Since teaching in Madrid, she has taught English as a Foreign Language in Chile, London and Bristol. Julianne met her Venezuelan husband whilst living in London and they now have a son. They decided to move to Rotterdam for her husband’s work as an engineer. Julianne now works as a Kindergarten Educational Assistant for NAISR. Julianne and her family love Rotterdam and feel very at home here so far.
