Clara was born in El Salvador and migrated to Belgium at the age of three during the civil war. She completed her schooling in Brussels. She obtained a Camp counselor certificate a year before she graduated from high school and worked in residential summer camps and day camps for two years. In 2000, she returned to El Salvador where she studied Social Communication. Parallelly, Clara began working at the Alliance Français of San Salvador where she designed a French summer camp for children, and a year later contributed to the creation of a year-long french language program (for children from age six to fourteen) offered in three international schools in San Salvador.
In 2005, Clara obtained her teacher certification and a year later began a bachelor's in linguistics at the University of Rouen. In 2008, she settled in The Netherlands where she used her experience to elaborate a French as foreign language curriculum for children in the Alliance Française of The Hague as well as to collaborate in the creation of a blended learning platform.
Clara began teaching at NAISR in August 2014 as a French teacher and later also as a Spanish teacher. She is also the CAS Coordinator and Unicef co-lead.
