Gerry Stacey

Visual Arts Teacher

Gerry is an Australian teacher who has lived in the Netherlands on and off for the past 8 years. She completed her Bachelor of Education in 2001 and has since enjoyed teaching in Australia, Italy, The UK, US and The Netherlands. Realising her passion for visual arts, Gerry returned to Australia after working at the American International School of Turin to complete her Diploma of Visual Arts. Gerry is passionate about visual arts and the creative process, recognising the benefits in engaging in the arts both inside and outside of the classroom setting.

In response to the ever occurring natural disasters in Australia, Gerry took a break from the classroom to work for the Australian Red Cross Emergency Services where she worked alongside local artists and community members to promote and create community art projects and to run recovery workshops in schools.

Gerry currently resides in Haarlem with her family. Between working and being a mum, Gerry attempts to find time to continue developing her own artistic practice.
